WNR2000 V4 modem router displays "Please wait a moment" continuously at login

Router Firmware Version V1.0.0.50

Web browser: Firefox 98.0.2 (64-bit)

When I try to log in to the router, the screen always displays "Please wait a moment." This never changes.

Today, trying to upgrade to firmware V1.0.0.70, when clicking the Upload button, the "Wait ..." message displays and never changes. The upgrade is never accomplished.

And now, any selection I make takes me to this web page:

https://www.netgear.com/home/services/routerlogincom/

Suggestions and solutions welcome.

Thank you, Richard

I don't know what browser you tried upgrading your router with, but I suggest you using Microsoft Edge in attempting to apply that firmware upgrade. I think there's bugs with other browsers when trying to upgrade from a browser.

  • Go to the netgear.com website under support and then type the model number of your router and see if there's a more up to date firmware. You can apply it manually also, just download the latest firmware and apply it on the GUI on the router page.

I should have mentioned that I had checked the Netgear support options and had tried the methods that were suggested. I am able to navigate to Advanced/Administration/Firmware Upgrade; but when I click "Check," the "Please wait..." message displays and never changes.

I had also downloaded the upgrade file and tried the Upload method. As before, the "Please wait..." message displays and never changes, no matter how long I wait.

        Thank you,

        Richard
