Nighthawk R7000 vs R8000

I'm looking for a new ac wireless router and want to know which of these models is the best. What are the pros and cons of each router?

    Well i just pulled the trigger on the R7000. Usually i go for the latest and greatest but it sounds like the R8000 still has some bugs to work out and the R7000 more then meets my needs. :)

    The short answer is the r8000 offers two 5g radios so if you need that option choose the r8000 if not then the r7000.

    One pro for the R7000 is that there is a version of DD-WRT for it but the R8000 is not supported.

    The R7000 Netgear firmware is more mature but some people still have problems with it. I do not have those problems with the newer firmware. The R7000 runs good for me.

    Remember these forums are for people who have problems with their routers and most of the people without router problems don't log in here.

    DD-WRT is 3rd party FW. It offers some options which are Not offered by NG.
