Our AC1900 has completely reset itself after a power outage last night. Auto updates is disabled but I have kept it up to date manually. Current version is V1.0.12.216_10.2.122 The router is 7 years old, bought new. Is this behavior something that should be expected from this point on until we replace the unit?Netgear R7000
i was getting buffering - checked the modum and that was good- unplugged the router - finally reset it - but when i try to connect the router to my computer with the ethenet cord the routerlogin - the page never loads not sure where to go from here - purchased in 2021 so its not that old and its been a great router with a good range to reach my back field where i monitor bluebirds with a blink cameracannot access my nighthawk router after changing xfinity password
I changed my wifi password with my Xfinity modem today. I am using my nighthawk router as an extender. I thought I had to update the password on my nighthawk to this new one though I am not sure this is necessary . I went to login to my nighthawk on the app but I get a " wifi not detected" message. I then tried to login on my pc using routerlogin.net and also the 192.168.0.1 but neither worked. First of all do I even need to do anything to my router if I simply changed my Xfinity wifi password? If yes, how can I access the admin panel on my router? Thanks for any help.112Views0likes2CommentsInternet connection Interruption
Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed internet connection interruptions. I'm trying to track down the source of the interruptions. I started with the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 logs and found out that the logs have a very limited length and do not appear to cover enough time to allow me to look back in time more than 1 hour. How can I have a longer log? Is there something else I should be looking at to eliminate the router as the source of the interruptions?89Views0likes6Commentsr7000 router only shows two lefthand lights
We lost internet this morning. Verizon Fios says that the internet is all good on their end, so it potentially is a problem with our R7000 router. (https://www.netgear.com/support/product/r7000/) Only the two left lights are showing and I dont think that's right. Anyone know what I can to do fix it? Do we need a new router??39Views0likes2CommentsDell Laptop with DropBox Crashes Netgear Router
I got an Inspiron 5567 Laptop with Windows 10 x64 for Christmas. Since then, the laptop crashes my Netgear R7000 router daily. At that point cannot login to the router at 192.168.1.1 (no response). I can Ping it. I can connect between all devices Wired/Wifi on my LAN. Powering the router off/on resolves the problem. I have factory reset the router and also tested a new R700P Netgear Router. No joy! My LAN includes 3 Laptops and 4 Desktop PCs using DropBox, one with Windows 7, the rest Windows 10. I have found that DropBox on the laptop causes the crash. DropBox usage at this point is only an occasional, perhaps weekly, update to my 25 KB SafeInCloud password file in the cloud. Below I have shown the DB discovery protocol trace for two IPs. IP 192.168.1.17, as an example, and the other 5 PCs have 2 trys. Only 192.168.1.50 (The Laptop) shows multiple trys. The laptop typically has 4 trys. This one capture is 6 trys, and I suspect it goes crazy sometimes and causes the crash. I have done a clean reset of windows on the laptop, worked with Dell to get the latest drivers, etc., and the problem still exists. I recently moved to my new apartments and got a new internet connection from comcast. I had bought a new CM500 Netgear Modem on which I recieve a good internet connection when connected through a ethernet cable. Once I connect this ethernet cable to my AC1900 - R700 Wifi router, I dont see the internet symbol turning into white LED color, instead it just stays in Organe color indicating that it has not internet connectivity. I am pretty sure the modem is doig it job correctly cause I simply plugged in the ethernet cable from the CM500 modem ot my laptop and I am able to connecte to the internet. This would simply mean that for some odd reason, the wifi router is not receiving connection from CM500 modem or something is wrong with the ethernet interface of my wifi router. I have tried to factory reset it several times, no luck so far. I paid $150 on this product and I hope someone here from Netgear Community can help me solve or troubleshoot this issue. Thanks. Nighthawk R7000 Firmware Version V1.0.9.18_1.2.27 I wanted to set up some IP cameras and other devices on a guest network that wouldn't have access to my actual local network. However, it seems like my only option is to "Let devices see each other and allow access to my local network." I need them to be able to see each other to work, but I don't want them to have access to my local network. I've gotta be missing something because this kind of kills a lot of the advantages one would hope to get when using a guest network. As it is, it's not really a "Guest Network."Solved681Views0likes2CommentsNighthawk ac1900 / R7000 stopped working
So I guess I can join the club of those who have the Nighthawk AC1900/R7000 that stopped transmitting WiFi. I read through the forum. I rebooted. I pressed the radio button multiple times. I updated firmware. I tried this https://kb.netgear.com/24101/How-do-I-enable-or-disable-the-wireless-radios-on-my-Nighthawk-router but the option to turn on and off the wireless radios is grayed out. Seems like the WiFi radio button might be broken??Solved45KViews0likes3CommentsNetgear R7000 not letting me login after putting it on AP mode
Hi, I remember first installing the R7000, I was displayed with either AP mode (not sure if that was what it was called) or regular mode. I chose AP mode, as I had slower connections on regular mode. Now that there have been so many updates, I want to update my R700 for security purposes. However, I am unable to do so, as everytime I try 192.168.0.1 or routerlogin.com. I am taken to my modems menu and not my netgear R7000 menu. The modem is a Netgear CG3000-2STAUS (Yes Optus provided modem). I've looked through many articles that have been suggested to me; however, none of them have address my issue. I tried restting both the modem and router, and when I do, all my devices are still connected to the router. Everything is the same and nothing changes when I try to reset. I hope there is an answer out there, tecnical support via telephone has passed, and so has the warranty.Solved734Views0likes11Comments
