Nighthawk X10 AD7200 doesn't like my wifi mac address (or something)

Router Firmware Version
V1.0.5.24

I am having an issue that started shortly after I purchased this router in August.

On my Dell Inspiron 15 5579 2-in-1 ONLY, when connected to wifi, I'm connected for approximately 2 minutes and then the connection drops.  I MIGHT be able to get it back by disabling/re-enabling the wifi adapter, but after a few tries that no longer works.  If I plug in my ethernet adapter via USB, that will stay connected indefinitely.   When I take my laptop to work with me and connect to their network wirelessly I connect automatically and stay connected my entire shift(s).    So I've isolated the issue to only this laptop, wirelessly, to my Nighthawk router.

What I've done to troubleshoot:  I've updated/changed my wifi device drivers for Windows 10.  This did not improve stability.

It almost seems as if the mac address is getting a Denial of Service attack from the router itself.  Not only do I lose connection to my SSID, the wifi adapter does not detect ANY wireless connections at all, and there are several nearby.

Any suggestions?

does it matter if you're connected to the 2.4ghz or 5ghz?

    Have you tried them both?

do you have any usb-wireless adapters you can try it with?

That's something I have not tested/tried.  Right now I'm connected wirelessly at work with no issues.  I'll be home in a few hours and will see what knocks me off.

The only thing is when it kicks me off, the adapter is completely shot until I disable/enable it.  I can't even view other networks that are in range.

I do have a Cisco wireless adapter (somewhere).  I'm an electronic hoarder and not very organized so it may take me a bit to find it, unless I get lucky.

I will report my findings here either way.

      Thanks!

This would make my highly suspicious of the adapter. What wireless adapter is it?
