R6020 factory reset Borks internet access

Question

I was getting really slow connection speeds so I did a factory reset. Now I cannot get into the settings so I can update the firmware. I have the latest version on a flash drive. I can see that the router is connected but cannot sign in due to no internet. I do have an Ethernet cable connected, but it says that I do not. The usual browser router access urls like 187.162.-.- do not work. Not sure what to do next. Any help appreciated.

That should take you directly to the router web ui.&nbsp; If you aren't seeing that behavior, try browsing directly to the router's LAN IP address.&nbsp; That normally defaults to 192.168.1.1, but there are situations where it will be a different IP (for example, if the router is behind a gateway).

Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi.&nbsp;This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router.

Nothing usual about those URLs.&nbsp; 187.162.x.x are public IP addresses belonging to a Mexican ISP - they are not addresses you can use to access the router from the LAN.&nbsp; Did you try http://www.routerlogin.net ?

Thanks for the reply, I do not own a smart phone and my chromebook cannot run the night hawk app.&nbsp; I clear the browser cache regularly.

No need for the nighthawk app.&nbsp; Try entering http://www.routerlogin.net&nbsp; in your chromebook browser.
