R7000 after firmware upgrade doesn't allow port forwaring to Synology DSM

Hello,

for a long period of time I had Synology DSM 115 connected to router. There were configuered a few ports via UPnP to access DSM from external source (3042 for access and some other like 8001, 6281,5006, 80 for Let's encrypt) Sudenly it stopped working. Reseting router didn't help. I have upgraded firmware to the newest one, tried to set up port forwarding manually and still it doesn't work. I have evene installed bet version of the newest firmware V1.0.9.20_1.2.28 , stll the same and it doesn't work. I had reset settings to factory, still the same.

I have static IP from my ISP. I have tried another router and it works OK with it, but my nighthawk don't.

When I try to connect from external IP to my DSM via https://mystaticip:3042 in logs I can see sth like this:

[LAN access from remote] from 31.0.65.107:24644 to 192.168.1.3:3042, Saturday, Jan 20,2018 14:25:04

So it seems that the connecttion from external IP is OK (don't know why via 24644 port or other) and passed via 3042 to the IP of my DSM in local network on 192.168.1.3.

What can be wrong?

An actual firmware version number would be more helpful than your
opinion of what's "the newest" (today).

       Copy+paste your port-forwarding rules.

"doesn't work" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say
what you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions with their actual results (error messages, LED
indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or
    interpretations.

You did something to ensure that your "my DSM" always has that IP
    address?  (What?)

Can you access your "my DSM" from within your LAN at the router's
WAN/Internet IP address?  (That should be "mystaticip".  Is it?)

      Hello,

at first I had upgraded to 1.0.9.18. Then to 1.0.9.20_1.2.28.

      My port forwarding rules:

      1304230423042192.168.1.3
      2808080192.168.1.3
      3800180018001192.168.1.3
      4628162816281192.168.1.3
      5500650065006192.168.1.3

After it stopped working, I mean I couldn't access to DSM from external network, I have restarted the router and used DSM to auto configure via UPnP port forwarding. It didn't help, so I have turned of UPnP and added port forwarding manually, as listed above. It didn't help.

I turned on Remote management on port 8443. I have checked it from outside the network (via LTE connection) and it works OK.

I have upgraded to 1.0.9.18 and repeated above procedure. It didn't help.

I have upgraded to 1.0.9.20_1.2.28 and repeated above procedure. It didn't help.

There are no errors shown in logs or in router admin page. LED indicators shows everything is OK.

I have setup 192.168.1.3 to my DSM in both DSM settings and in router admin page, assigned this IP to DSM MAC.

Can you access your "my DSM" from within your LAN at the router's
WAN/Internet IP address?  (That should be "mystaticip".  Is it?)

Yes, I can access DMS via https://mystaticip:3042 from within my LAN.

        Hi tomign,

Try to reset the router and reconfigure the settings manually.

  • I also have problems with the R7000 router and Synology DS116 NAS. I tried setting up ports manually, automatic via upnp, via Synology Ez internet and no luck connecting to outside only my local LAN.

With Ez internet it does recognize everything, it makes the port forwarding except it gives an error in Network Environment, (something with one or two routers.......) and still no outside connection. I can acces the nas inside my network without problems.

I have an PPPOE conection from ISP and it's direct cable to the router. Before this router I used an D-link DIR842 router and it worked perfectly. Any ideea what can I do ?
