R7000 New Firmware 1.0.6.28 released
New Features:
- Supports Arlo camera. Set up the R7000 as an Arlo base station and connect an Arlo camera to the R7000 without needing an extra base station..
Bug Fixes:
- Fixes the issue in which port 1237 cannot be used in port forwarding.
- Fixes the issue in which the Kwilt binary cannot be downloaded in some cases.
- Fixes the issue in which MTU is not restored when IPv6 is disabled.
If you are going backwards in release number you might still have them (that is from one of the older recalled beta's). However there is NO guarantee they will work. In cases like that you have to RESET the router and then re-apply manually your setting for proper operation.
If you are moving up from and older official release, like V1.0.4 or older you don't need to reset the router but it is advised. In this case I'd give it a try, have any problems, reset and re-enter is the first thing to try. DO NOT load saved settings from any other version into a new one. That seems to be asking for trouble these days.

- Retired_MemberBecause i was commenting mostly about the fact that they wanna charge people $89 and up for their mistakes thats why im here! And no i wont use beta...Im not using experimental software that never works right...

I ended up switching to Merlin - v378.56_2 and have not looked back. Even the Netgear 1.0.4.30 firmware gave me the same issues with my WAN dropping. I did a full reset and re-configured so there was no dodgy backup and I still had issues.
I work in IT and things like this happen, in saying that, how they have the gall to charge $89 to fix their mistake? Not a good look IMO...
- Retired_MemberWell ive hard reset my nighthawk 4 times...everythings hooked up right,And well i thought it was ok...But mine keeps rebooting still...And theres a lag sometimes with the connection...speeds are good but just not a steady connection...im done messing with mine! It turned into a 2 week headache...hopefully a fix soon...

Alright,
I've got Arlo camera's so I'm stuck with the beta firmware. Running: V1.0.6.40_1.1.90 now in AP mode.
So far not happy with the R7000
- Every now and then when i login to the router it states: "Updating Settings" and it will reset the modem. Not really great.. as you can imagine. I can, after the reset, login to the router.
- Some Arlo camera's are getting disconnect every now and then (1 every 2 to 4 days). Reset r7000 through Arlo app fixes the problem. Never had this issue with the Arlo basestation in place. As you don't receive any push messages when arlo lost it's connection this is not great. Is there any new firmware implementing a more stable connection.. otherwise i will need to hook up the basestation again... :(

install beta version it will help

1.0.6.28 was incredibly unstable for me! I downloaded and installed 1.0.6.40 and disabled Arlo and so far so good!

try yet 1.0.5.60 :) it works well now.
Hi everyone, i wish to provide my feedback on R7000. So i own this device since 2 years now and i've tried every firmware out there because i basically wanted a nas in my router and stock firmware didn't provide enough features for me. Now i'm back to stock since transmission(aka netgear downloader) was added to it. My experience with all firmwares and 1.06.28 has always been rock solid, i didn't experience any of the issues people on this thread posted so i think that the problems people are facing might be related to hardware somehow. People who buy R7000 today might have slightly different hardware than those who bought it on release or whatever.

Confirm. On my router too i experience no issues on all FW's (officially released 1.0.6.28 and latest beta FW's)

Most of the user's problems on this forum is the reluctance to reset their router's to factory default after upgrading firmware (this version or others).
- VenosaurTutor
do You think reset after upgrade or before ? :)
- leehop71Aspirant
Not knowledgeable enough to know about the factory reset, but I do know I was having serious connectivity issues with .28 so I upgraded firmware to .40, without a factory reset, and the system, so far, appears to be rock solid!
- leehop71AspirantIn addition to upgrading from.28 to.40 I also disabled Smart Connect and Carlo since none of my equipment is Arlo.
- Port forwarding configuration changed between 1.0.4 and later releases, so you DO need to reset after upgrading. But you are correct about not loading saved settings from a different version.
- Retired_MemberHow or where can i find or click on or tag accepted soulution? Im tired of all the emails...
