R7000 V1.0.7.12_1.2.5 firmware update

Hello

So i'm going to get into my issues since this update. For reference my Mbps is 120/15

1) I can no longer multitask. If i'm downloading a file (350mb for example) i can no longer stream during this time. Running speed tests during a download confirm this. Internet is going from 100-120Mbps to 5-8Mbps(during a download). I can no longer stream while playing a game.

2) The new layout for attached devices is with out a doubt the most ridicilously terrible change I have ever seen within a piece of technology. Why would you change out an organzed list of devices for a jumbled, mix matched, garbage way of presenting information?

The way attached devices use to show up was by Wired devices, listed with names. Then 2.4Ghz wireless devices, then 5.0Ghz devices. Now? It's all mixed together. Wired, wireless, wired wired, wireless wireless, wired, wireless, wired. Seriously, why?

It was not. Thank you for your reply. Had to tweak quite a bit of stuff to get my network working again..

      Anyway, thanks again.

With the new list format for attached devices after the firmware update you can click on each of the headers and sort up or down.  A great tool for people who needed some flexibility with respect to the old display format.  Click on Connection Type once or twice and you can duplicate the old format.

Thanks -- This was really unclear from how the list looks. Thanks for your reply. Got the hang of it now!

  • I still can't generate a new VPN key with this new firmware. This is amazingly bad. How can you have a VPN feature that's impossible to secure because you can never re-key the lock?

I really hope router review sites start taking points off for this problem. In fact, I'm going to start reaching out to the editors myself. Absolutely ridiculous.
