Random internet disconnects of hardwire and wi-fi modelR6400v2

I bought this router because I started working from home and needed to hardwire my office computer. A few days after I noticed it would randomly disconnect all devices hardwired or using Wi-fi. The network was still up everything was connecting to it but the internet was just not working on anytihing. No internet connection was the message the comptuer would show. I have to unplug the router to get the internet back. My office is upstairs and when I am in the middle of a call, I have to run downstairs uplug it and run back up again. I read other post saying to make sure the firmware is up to date and I tried it. It is up to date, firmware version V1.0.4.106_10.0.80. I have 3 hard wired compters and 17 devices connected through the Wi-Fi. I also have Metronet ISP fiberoptic. Computers run windows 10. I havent had anny issues with the old modem exept it didnt have the amount of ports I needed to hardwire  another computer.

That is the default local IP address for whatever your router is.

The "gateway" that plemans asked about is the modem, modem/router or whatever it is that connects you to the Internet.

        You said earlier:

I this the thing that feeds the Internet to your router? Is there some sort of box on the wall that you plug into?

In general, I find it very difficult to follow your message. What is this "old modem" supposed to tell us? The R6400v2 is a router. No modem in sight.
