Router Speed

Download speed from modum is 450 mbps.  Download speed from router is 100 mbps.  Router is a Nighthawk model R7000.  Is this a normal loss in speed or do I need to upgrade my router?  Upload speeds are consistently 40 mbps both direct to modum or through router.

Sorry to nit pick, but......  How is the download speed from the router being measured?  and... is "100mbps" less than 100 (such as 94mbps) or even 1mb higher than 100?

When two devices with Ethernet adapters are connected with an Ethernet cable, the electronics built into the physical adaptors negotiate the highest speed that can be supported.  When the link is negotiated as 100mbps, then it is physically impossible to transmit any higher speed than "mid 90's".

Page 12 of the User Manual describes how the Ethernet LAN ports indicate the connection:

Unfortunately, it does not appear that the WAN port has a similar capability.

Is this with ethernet connected PC or wireless PC?

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellite(s) been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
