Using r7000p in AP mode any benefits to enabling VLAN for it?
I have my r7000 as mymain router hooked up to my fiber ONT from the ISP. I dont have wifi on that router I just have 4 ethernet wall outlets hooked up to it which lead to my xbox one, a pc, a roku and the other router the R7000P .
I have the r7000P setup in AP mode, Would there be any benefit to any of the following:
1. Enabling VLAN from the r7000 for the port that the R7000P is running on.
2. Turning DHCP off on the main router (r7000)
3. Having the R7000P setup in router mode not AP Mode and let it to the DHCP handling

What would you expect that to do for you?

How would disabling your only DHCP server help?

What about the outer router (R7000)? Would that still be a router?
Do you want to cascade multiple routers, with all the problems which
that can cause?
I don't know exactly how your wiring is arranged, but if your
distribution hub is near the ONT, then that would seem to be the best
place for your (only) router. If you want to have a wireless access
point elsewhere, then do that.
Your current arrangement seems about optimal to me. You seem poised
to screw it up. What about it bothers you?

Is the (free) service here not speedy enough for you?- hbk_seanmichaelAspirant

What are you trying to achieve? You have a problem of some sort?
Apart, that is, from being impatient and expecting an instant response on a free user-to-user service at the weekend, when the Netgear team has time off and most of us have got better things to do than deal with strange questions.

For WLAN VLAN sounds like a good complement. Who knows....
