Inconsistent Speed Test with RS300 on WIFI, Good Hardline Speed, (Less then 20 feet dist.)
Router Firmware Version V1.0.1.60
So I have now been through 2 RS300's (which I bought for their 2 2.5GB ports, and am quite pleased with the performance of those ports),
But I have this issue where on the 5Ghz Wi-Fi I am only getting 150-250 Mbps, where I should be achieving 800 Plus (if not Gig plus) at less then 20 feet. I have seen these speeds, but they never last past a few tests.
I have 2 separate RS300's do this same exact thing, a reset and reconfig do not fix it, Armor security has been disabled, Protection Engine has been turned off.
I am not using WPS or "Smart connect", and all settings appear to be set to "standard" configuration, I have not configured the router beyond the above settings in attempts to address this issue.
I am hoping there is something very simple I am missing or can investigate.
I am fairly familiar with networking (At a home level, I leave infrastructure level stuff alone, but can DNS flush and set up port forwarding etc. well enough.)
Thank you!

What wireless devices are you speed testing with?

Thank you for the reply.
I appreciate the through examples given, but I don't believe those principles apply here. I have tested the WIFI using my laptop (Intel AX201 Wi-Fi 6) and my Samsung S22+My Laptop isnt 6E, so I cannot use the 6Ghz band, but my phone is.
The first chart is the laptop speed over the last 5 days, as you can see it varies rather dramatically. But I cannot find "why" it dips like it does, and it isn't device specific (2nd photo, phone, showing same dip of speed) but if I run the test with the 6E moments later I get 650 Mbps, same location.
I feel like its being throttled specifically in the 5Ghz range, but I dont know why.Is Smart Connect enabled or disabled?
Try with Smart Connect disabled and devices connected on 5Ghz.
