When I tried to use the mapped drives I was originally told that it couldn't open a connection because a connection already exists. Now it simply says the network connection was not found. Please help me.

That would be a completely different issue than the one on this thread. Please start a new one, and include the NAS model and the firmware version that is installed.

I have the same problem with my NAS. But when I turn off "Encrypted web scan" in my Bitdefender virusprotection, I can reach my NAS.
I have contacted Bitdefender, bit they say the problem lies with Netgear. I think that's true.

Well, the problem goes away when you disable Bitdefender. Per their website ( https://www.bitdefender.com/support/cannot-access-secure-websites-since-i-installed-bitdefender-1600.html ) Bitdefender is blocking access because the Netgear certificate is self-signed.
I think Bitdefender has a way to whitelist the ReadyNAS. Did you try that?

I have tried a lot off things with the help off Bitdefender. This is their final conclusion:
We have forwarded the case to our developers for further analysis and a fix, to allow the exclusion for this insecure page.In the meantime, please contact the manufacturer of the NAS that returns this certificate error because it's using an insecure TLS protocol and they need to update it.As a workaround, you can temporarily turn off Encrypted Web Scan before accessing 192.168.178.111. open Bitdefender 2019 and go to Protection2. click Settings under Online Threat Prevention3. switch OFF Encrypted web scan4. open a browser and access the IP
5. turn back ON Encrypted web scan once you finish the job on the router
