OK ALL GOOD.
Everything works if:
- Firmware in NAS: 6.5.0
- Double check that readyNAS is connected to internet (click Check Updates for the firmware and double check that you have pop up message)
- Make sure in the admin page under the cloud page that you are sign in with the new myNetgear email address
- ReadyCloud version 1.12
In this way everything works good, local connection and VPN.
thank for your help guys
cheers,

When I click "check for update" nothing happens.
That suggests that your NAS is not connected to the internet. If you were running older firmware than 6.5.0 you should have been prompted to update.
If you have set a static I.P. on the NAS did you remember to specify the DNS Server addresses?

I too have the same problem - only so far I have not done the 6.5 upgrade being on 6.4.2. There seems to be some serious bugs here or else the instructions need a lot more work. I would be grateful for someone from NetGear intervening and helping us to get our systems hooked up to the readycloud client.

You'll need to upgrade to 6.5 before you can use the new ReadyCloud.

My fault...the DNS wasn't set it up.
I have set up the DNS server using the same IP used when it wasn't set up as static.
Aftern changing that the first log in allows me to input my new myNetgear account details, so I have done Leave and Join again with myNetgear account details but for some reason it didn't accept that. Keep asking me to log in again in the admin page and to Join again.
I though that myabe the webpage was broken or something so I just close the page and start all over again but now I can't even log in in the admin page.
Tried to clean the cache and restart but no luck.
what should I do?
thanks

My bad again....I messed up with the IP but I manage to recover following this procedure: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29770/~/i-can-no-longer-access-my-readynas-os-6-storage-system-after-moving-local-area
Anyway my problem with the account was a wrong static IP settings.
Now using the DHCP (with IPv6 disabled) everything works fine with the new myNetgear account.
Still one problem for me, I have mapped on the desktop computers the ReadyNas so I need a static IP.
I have tried to set up the DNS but it seems that doesn't work.
Is there any procedure that I can follow to set it up?
thank you
