Flummoxed getting ReadyCloud installed

I'm running Windows 10. I'm trying to get ReadyCloud working. I've got a 128GB SanDisk USB flash drive plugged in. I downloaded and installed ReadyCloud. The USB drive shows up in My Computer, although I cannot write anything to it. I have a ReadyNAS account established and can log into it. But I can't get Windows to "Discover" the device. I've connected to the router at 192.168.0.1 and am able to log in and get to the GUI, but nowhere do I see a tab that talks about ReadyCloud. What did I miss? Do I need to upgrade the firmware in the router?

    Hi coolram52,

    Welcome to the community!

Kindly check this article and it'll help you setup, and eventually give you access to the  USB storage that is plugged into your ReadyNAS. There's no need to discover the ReadyNAS via ReadyCLOUD if you are just accessing it locally.

    Kind regards,

No, that article did not help. It only talks about accessing my USB flash drive on my local network. That already works fine, but that's not what I want to do. I want to access it over the internet, away from local network. I can't get ReadyCloud or ReadyNAS Remote or RAIDar to work. None of them discover the device.

Netgear's technical support model sucks. 90 days of "complimentary" support, and then we have to pay? Wish I had known that when I paid all that money for the Nighthawk. The main reason I bought it was for the ReadyCloud feature. Now I'm beginning to think that ReadyCloud is not even supported on the AC1900, since apparently ReadyCloud only works with NAS 6 devices, and I don't think my device is at NAS 6. How do I tell? And if it's not at NAS 6, can I upgrade it to NAS 6?

        Hi coolram52,

This works fine on my end using the 'admin' ReadyCLOUD account. Can you tell us what is the model # of your system and the Firmware running on it?

        Looking forward to your response.
