Internet Usage
So the questionis how much internet usage occurs when I am communicating with the NAS device. If I am on local does it just go to the router and back And if I am on readyCloud what happens This...

So there isn't much additional risk.

The key word is Reinstall. That's what you want to do.
You really don't want to do a factory default (which might be called a reset in some places).
After carefuly reading the manual, I crossed my fingers and toes and did it. Got back in with all data intact.
