Internet Usage

So the questionis how much internet usage occurs when I am communicating with the NAS device.  If I am on local does it just go to the router and back  And if I am on readyCloud what happens   This...

    But if you use ReadyCloud you must have an OS6 unit.

     

    An OS reinstall won't hurt the data, and will reset the admin password to password and the network connection to DHCP (get IP address automatically).  It will require a reboot.  The best instructions are in the hardware manual for your NAS model.  Don't do a factory default, as that will destroy your data.

     

    FWIW, if you forget the NAS password you could write it down and tape it inside the door of the NAS.  Though security experts here will cringe, the truth is that anyone with physical access to the NAS can reset the password with OS reinstall procedure mentioned above.  So there isn't much additional risk.
