ReadyCloud Desktop App for Linux
Are there any plans of releasing a ReadyCloud Desktop App for Linux? Otherwise, is there any way of mounting the drive?
The web interface is only good for working with single files.

If possible, I would prefer solutions which doesn't require me to have a separate computer active 24/7. That is why I was checking into the cloud service provided by the router itself.
The two options I suggested don't require a separate computer, the NAS itself supports both.
What router do you have? Many of the newer higher/end Netgear routers support openVPN - which would give you full (secure) access to your full home network.
Also, OpenVPN, the FTPS server built into the NAS and OwnCloud do not use third party servers.

It's important to note that the router itself is NOT providing this service. Netgear routers do have readycloud support built in. But that just gives access to the cloud. The cloud itself is hosted on Netgear servers, and if you use it you are trusting Netgear to keep your data secure.
I'm not saying you (or anyone else) shouldn't use ReadyCloud. But I do think its important for people to be intentional and thoughtful about trust relationships they have with cloud and hosted services.

Hi alderhn,
Can you confirm if you're trying to access the shares remotely or locally? At the moment, ReadyCLOUD desktop app is only available for Windows and MAC OS X. With regard to other concern, shares can be mounted in LINUX (if you're in the same network) and steps are available here.
Hope this helps!
Kind regards,BrianL

Hi Brian, thanks for your response.
I can access the shared drive fine when connecting to my local network.
What I would like is to access this shared unit over the Internet, so that I can still work with the drive when I am not at home.

There are other options. OwnCloud is one you could try. Or FTP/FTPS.
