ReadyCLOUD iOS share limit size

ReadyNAS latest firmware
Ready Cloud Latest update
iOS Latest update
All Shares correctly set
All Smbr and ftp etc. protocols correctly set

Upload : to Ready Cloud : from IOS location : ‘on my iPhone files‘
NAS iCloud app : Upload save (grayed out preventing upload)

I am able to upload SMALL files and photos from my iOS ‘’on my phone’’ folder using ReadyCLOUD with my NAS 312 & 316

But when I try and upload a 38 gig film plus, the ‘SAVE’ ‘at location’ on Iclouds is grayed out, preventing me from saving the file.

1// Why is this?

It appears you have an upload file capacity limit.

2// how can I save large files from my iOS : ‘ on my iPhone’ folder to my NAS 312 or NAS 316?

Either using your iCloud app or otherwise to my NAS storage?

Is there a work around ?

Because it appears your system is useless for large files !!!!

ReadyCloud has nothing to do with iCloud (which is Apple).

Current iOS supports SMB directly using the Files app.  So when you are home, you should be able to directly copy the file to the NAS w/o using ReadyCloud at all.

      Many thanks

iCloud was a transcript error/ it should have read ReadyCLOUD.

      Yes:
Using SMB directly works fine, thanks.
However what do you suggest for a remote connection....

      Using a DNS?
and trying to connect remotely that way rather then using the ReadyCLOUD app, which won’t work for large files.

      Thanks

Personally I use openVPN (which is supported by my Orbi router).  That gives me full access to my home network when I'm away.

It does require DDNS (which is also built in to the router).

ZeroTier is another free VPN option - there is an app available for it at apps.readynas.com, and free apps available for iOS and Android.

Yet another approach is to use Resilio Sync.  I haven't tried to run that on the NAS, instead I run it on a PC (which I use generally as an application server).  But there is an app for that also.  I find the selective sync on the mobile device to be convenient, and it does a good job of backing up my photos and videos. I haven't tried it on 38 GB files though.
