Remote backup from local to remote
Hi masters,
I have a NETGEAR ReadyNAS 104. It is connected via ethernet cable to my company's network (like a "normal" shared resource such a folder for ex.). I'd like to know if it would be possible to do the following: Configure the device in such way that it connects to a remote repository (to my house) to make backup copies.
Is that possible to do this with the model that I have? How?
Thank youuuuuuuu

There are five ways to do this.
- use rsync-over-ssh which will work if the destination is a linux machine - for example another readynas. see https://kb.netgear.com/29929/ReadyNAS-OS-6-Setting-up-a-backup-job-with-rsync-over-SSH
- upload the ReadyNAS information to a cloud service (dropbox, google drive, etc), and then download it from there to the repository.
- use a VPN client to connect to your corporate network from your home, and then trigger the backup from home.
- Use something like ZeroTier to connect your home NAS to your corporate NAS.
- Use Resilio sync to sync your repository with your NAS.
If your NAS holds business data, you should check your company's security policies.
Resilio Sync and Cloud Service syncs can be tempermental - if the purpose is backup, I don't think I'd trust them.
