ddclient setup on RN102
Trying to set up ddclient on RN102 and can't seem to figure it out. Currently running latest firmware 6.1.6. Downloaded and installed without a problem. However the "launch" button is grayed out. Toggling on and off does nothing. Maybe that's the problem?
Edited ddclient.conf file as follows, which came from dyndns website - probably don't need everything in it, but I'm not sure what I need...
## ddclient configuration file
daemon=600
# check every 600 seconds
syslog=yes
# log update msgs to syslog
mail-failure=XXX@xxx.com # Mail failed updates to user
pid=/var/run/ddclient.pid
# record PID in file.
## Detect IP with our CheckIP server
use=web, web=checkip.dyndns.com/, web-skip='IP Address'
## DynDNS username and password here
login=(purposefully left blank for this post)
password=(purposefully left blank for this post)
## Default options
protocol=dyndns2
server=members.dyndns.org
## Dynamic DNS hosts
(purposefully left blank for this post)
Thanks for the help!

Nope. I used the ddclient-version from the Apps-section of my RN102. It's labeled as Version 1.0.0 by Poussin. Installing anything else would require me to enable ssh-root access, thus voiding any warranty, right? - etonLuminary

http://www.readynas.com/index.php?s=root+sshPlease keep in mind that NETGEAR may deny support if you’ve enabled root access.
viewtopic.php?p=111042#p111042By the way, installing the SSH add-on does not automatically void all of your tech support.
I actually think ssh-access is a must. Some things are just not possible to do via Frontview.
Poussin have not been that active here during last years. WhoCares is now the main add-on developer. RN102 uses an Arm CPU, right?
Not that many add-ons here: viewforum.php?f=158
WhoCares site: https://rnxtras.com/addons/category/readynas-os6-arm
But I can't find a ddclient add-on for OS 5 or 6 Arm.
If I where you I would enable ssh-access and install the apt-get add-on and then:apt-get install ddclinet
:)
