Is it safe to uninstall apps?
Hi Everyone,
The last time I tried to uninstall an app my Readynas 102 crashed and became unaccessible. At the time many other people were have the same problem - some bug with the firmware. The nice people at Netgear HQ helped me get it running again, and everything is now tickety-boo. With the small exception of the abandoned piwigo app. Which I installed and would now like to remove. However, I'd like some quite convincing reassurance that the 6.4.2 firmware has resolved the problem and my ReadyNas 102 won't blow up if I click on Remove. Can anyone reassure me that it will be fine, or should I just let the thing sit there for the foreseeable?
Sylvia
The bug you are talking about was fixed ~6.2.3 (a year ago), so it shouldn't be a problem now.

It should be fine, but depending on what else you have installed on your system there is a small chance that uninstalling the app won't work. There are a lot of apps out there and we can't test every possible combination of apps installed.
We have a safe mode for the http/s service so even if that happens the web admin page should still be available.
Of course it wouldn't be a bad idea to update your regular backup before doing something like this.
