Yes, the link you provided I was able to open (although I didn't find any instructions on that page).
If you are able to open the page that I and others are having trouble with, would you mind just posting the installation instructions? Or, if you don't want to clutter the board, you could PM them to me. Either one would be much appreciated!

There are no special installation instructions that I know of.
Just the usual
-open frontview
-select system->update from the left, then click on the local tab
-select the istat bin file with "choose file"
-then select "upload and verify"
-finally "perform system update".
Post install, you can see istatd in services->installed Add-ons.
You can set the numeric password, and also remove the add-on from there.

The file that I downloaded that I thought I was supposed to install was a .deb file. It was also much newer. I downloaded it from the author's (Poussin) Dropbox link he posted.
Is the .deb file not for the Sparc architecture?

No, its not for the Sparc architecture. You need the bin. Maybe Poussin might update the bin (worth asking anyway).
