The question still stands about the buss speed,
why buy SATA-300's for a SATA-150 buss I mean.
Any easy way to confirm this pre-teardown ?

Wow, I KNOW my device can't be SATA-600,
this seems like a waste to get this capacity:
Hitachi 3-TB 6Gb/s 64-MB - Ultrastar 7K3000 HUA723030ALA640
Seagate 3-TB 6Gb/s 64-MB - Constellation ST33000650NS
Seagate 3-TB 6Gb/s 64-MB - Barracuda XT ST33000651AS
