Wow -- you're right. Sigh -- hopefully the hosting service will be back up soon, although they admit that there is no ETA for service restoration.
If it doesn't come back soon, I guess I will just document all the details for avoiding the photos.readynas.com proxy in this forum. Until then, if you want my script that automates the entire process, PM me.
