It seems NG are doing everything possible to get you to upgrade the hardware, when it was working fine. Very disappointed that a huge company like Netgear can't maintain access to at least some of the apps. This coupled with my nas now constantly locking me out for 5 minutes after upgrading beyond 6.10.0. with no way of disabling it. Netgear are NOT Listening to there customers. Well I will be voting with my feet as the saying goes. Do not trust your valuable Data and hard earned cash with these muppets. Now buying a synology.

Netgear clearly has exited the NAS business. They stopped introducing new models 8 years ago and no longer sell any NAS platforms. All ReadyNAS models are end of life, so there is no Netgear support available.
So they aren't looking to upsell you. If you want a new NAS, you'll need to go with another vendor (and of course Synology is one of the obvious choices).
That said, my various ReadyNAS are all running with no issues, and I am planning to keep using them for the indefinite future.
