SQL server, how to download and which one?

Hi, I want to install SQL Server on ReadyNAS 204 with no internet connection available for the NAS.  after downloading it from apps site I receive only one file - mysqlr6_1.0.1_all.deb (about 40 kb). Is it normal (I don't want to start installing on NAS, if something might be corrupted). Second question - what version of MySQL is that ? Third question - on App's List on ReadyNAS 204 (OS 6.6.0) mentioning about PostgreSQL 9.1, but it is not mentioned on App's web site, why?

    Hi BalROCK,

Since the SQL is a 3rd party app, we may need to wait for the developer to update it. Hopefully someone from the community can also share some tips on how to go around this issue temporarily.

    Regards,

Checking MySQL download page for Debian Linux 8  release shows the latest version is 5.7.16 and the download size is189M.  Go here: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/  Select Debian Linux in the drop down.  The 2nd option down is: Debian Linux 8 (x86, 64-bit), DEB Bundle MySQL Server (filename: mysql-server_5.7.16-1debian8_amd64.deb-bundle.tar).  Per their installation page, you may also need to install some shared libraries to make it work which is the 6th option down:  Debian Linux 8 (x86, 64-bit), DEB Shared Libraries (filename: libmysqlclient20_5.7.16-1debian8_amd64.deb).  Installation instructions can be found here: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/binary-installation.html

That said, I love to see someone port this over and put it in the App Store.  I'd even settle for someone brave enough to do the installation manually shown on their page and report back their success.  There has to be savvy Linux users on this community who have taken matters into their own hands and made this work.  :smileyvery-happy:

OK, everything works fine no, MySQL and phpmyAdmin installed, up and running. But, in order to do this a had to open internet access for the NAS. Using any other offline idea was ineffective

ABout postgre I found info about it's incompatibility with 6.6.0, but - after updating list of apps it appeared again on Apps list in my NAS. So, is Postgres compatibile with OS 6.6.0 or not ?

Nice, so you installed the apps from the store and they worked?  Or did you manually install MySQL and PHP from their websites respectively?  Can you confirm the versions of each MySQL and PHP that you're running?  Thanks!
