Uploading Plex "local file upload failed"

I have downloaded the plex install file from: http://apps.readynas.com/pages/?page_id=9 with filename: plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries_0.9.12.8.1362-4601e39_amd64.deb.

On the readynas web interface using radiator 4.2.28 I am going to add-ons -> Add new and selecting the file from my PC.  When I click the Upload and verify image.  The file uploads (based on my network activity), then after many more minutes I receive the error: "Local file upload failed"

I have attempted to do this from Chrome, IE and Firefox all with the same issue.  I have also tried to download the file a second time and the same issue occurs.

I am trying to complete the install based on the following page, but can't even get the file to upload.

http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/25705/~/readynas-os-6%3A-plex-installation-%26-setup

This page suggests that I have ARM architecture but when I attempted to upload that file it said is was the incorrect architecture for my system.  Looking the my update page shows I am running RAIDiator-x86.

Can someone please help me install this?

Thanks.

  • I have not tried any other add-ons or apps, this is the first.  However, the only thing under available apps is "ReadyNAS Replicate", "Skifta", and "ReadyNAS Photos II".  I apparently have installed "ReadyNAS Remote" in the past.  I just now was able to successfully upgrade it.

However, I think I stumbled onto my issue.  I was downloading the file from the OS6 page when I have RAIDiator 4.2.28.

Going to https://plex.tv/downloads clicking on netgear and selecting Intel 4.X gave me the file: PlexMediaServer-0.9.15.2.1663-7efd046-i686.bin which was successfully uploaded and verified.

    Hi TripleLindy,

Does the same thing happen with other add-ons or apps? I hope you can try the plex media server app under the available apps (under the apps tab) on the admin page.

    Kind regards,

        Hi TripleLindy,

It's great to hear that you're able to install it using the add-on from Plex website. You may now close this thread by clicking the "Accept as Solution" button in one of the responses that you received.

        Kind regards,
