Where are the photos stored?
When uploading photos in Photos II where are the images stored? I logged on to the c share but I can not find them.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIn a hidden share. Browse to /c/.RNP2
edit: RNP2 needs to be in capitals. - damonledet1AspirantThanks!!
- tmensonidesAspirantJust found this...was wondering the same thing...
I don't know a ton about this stuff so how exactly would i browse to the c share...it seems to work just fine from my Mac but not my Windows 7 machine... - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredLogin to CIFS (Windows File Sharing) as "admin" (the Frontview user)
- Abernus1AspirantO.K I must be missing something. How do I connect to CIFS on my ReadyNAS Ultra from Windows 7? Thanks
- Abernus1AspirantO.K I figured it out. By running the following command: "net use \\<NAS IP Address>\c /user:admin" without the quotes I connact to the NAS as admin, then I can use RAIDar and browse the drive and see the C: of the NAS.
I must admit it's one hell of a file path to get to the photos in .RNP2  - tmensonidesAspirantThanks Abernus...that's what I needed to know as well...
- higherdemonAspirantI have all my photos on a share on my NAS. In order to use them in this application I must all import them?
I find it bizarre that I can't just say to Photos II where my photos are stored.
Now I need to import them again. So I'll end up having them twice.
I am thinking wrong or? because I don't see anyone having this problem? - adb1Aspirant

You are right. It creates several different sized versions of the original, but it also copies the original too, sadly. Would have been nice if it could have just made a reference to the original and handle the case if the original was removed. Disk space is plentiful, but... - sirozhaAspirantI would like to know if ReadyNAS Photo II is an application developed by Netgear or if this is re-branded third-party application. Also, because the use of this application for sharing photos requires that the URL is proxied by readynas.com, what assurances are there that this service will exist in 3, 5, or 10 years from now? It takes a lot of time to re-do all the photo albums currently hosted by other services, such as Shutterfly, Flickr, etc. It would be very disconcerting to learn a few years from now that the service were no longer supported since there is no functionality to share the albums using a non-Netgear URL (for example, based on your own domain or a dynamic DNS based service).
