We do cover the fan itself under the claimed warranty term for the NAS unit.

Installing a 3rd party fan does void the warranty so I suggest you only consider replacing the fan with a 3rd party one if it fails after the warranty expires.
I assume the case that the fan gets louder and louder by time (but still runs and cools the system) is NOT covered by the warranty, right?
So lets assume the fan should be replaced after the 2nd year due to my ears, how is this to be done? What exactly are the "standard fans" of the 104 and 314? I dont find the exact product/type name on the website.
Do I get them easily in the standard electronic shop or will I have to contact the support to get a new one?
I found this: "Noise levels: <28dBA (ReadyNAS® 516), <25dBA (all other units)" Is this (fan gets louder than than 25db) the spec for the point where a fan replacement is supported by warranty?
Thanks in advance.
