10Gbe SFP Cards
Hi there,
We are interested in getting the ReadyNAS 4200 (Comes with CX4) onto our 10Gbe network but I'm having difficulty finding a vendor that actually sells the item. Can someone point out to me where I can obtain this card? I'm currently in Perth, Australia. Also, will the SFP card coexist with the current CX4 card?

- chirpaLuminaryYou can order it with CX4 or SFP+. You can't use both add-on cards at the same time, one or the other. I'll dig for some part numbers.
- snapmetobitsAspirantHi Chirpa,
We actually bought the unit that comes with the CX4 card preinstalled but due to some network changes, we are looking at more devices using SFP instead. Just wanted to make sure that the readynas doesn't have CX4 specific software/firmware that stops the SFP card from working once the CX4 card is taken out.
Also is there a specific place to get the cards? Would I be able to get it direct from Netgear itself? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe NAS firmware is the same regardless of which card you have installed (if any). Replacing the card should be possible. If you have issues I would suggest contacting tech support for assistance (they should be able to help).
The SFP card is the RN12T2SFP-100. I don't think it's available direct from NetGear but it's available from resellers. - snapmetobitsAspirantI tried from the various resellers in Australia but a fair number of them don't keep stock since its a relatively low demand item and their shipment dates are early next year. Are there any authorised or prefered resellers that Netgear has or can recommend?

NetGear uses a handful or so of different distributors so if you ask resellers try to ask resellers that use different distributors (you can usually tell from different stock levels held of NetGear items by various online resellers that ship direct from the distributor)
