3TB support for Sparc-based ReadyNAS NV+ and Dou
I currently own 2 ReadyNAS Dou and 2 NV+.
There has been many discussions that the Sparc-based ReadyNAS (Dou and NV+) in the firmware beta forums is not support 3TB drives.
I recently read this article from QNAP http://www.qnap.com/PressRelease_detail.asp?pr_id=229.
Basically it states that their Intel and ARM-based NASes now supports 3TB drives.
Understanding that the Intel Based ReadyNas has such support for 3TB drives, I had to ask this question.
Does this mean that Netgear has dropped firmware development support for Sparc-based NASes or is it just technical impossibility to support 3TB drives on a Sparc-based NAS?

It's not NetGear's fault that GPT wasn't developed for Sparc.
Easy, he's just joking. There are countless re-hashes of that video out there, ranging from football to iPads to chocolate etc. I honestly don't believe he meant any malice.
Or is this a double bluff?- armornoneAspirant

Yes, there are literally thousands of video of Hitler reacting to stuff from the star trek experience closing down in Vegas, to mcdonalds not serving breakfast past 10:30am, to everything in between.
In my college, the football team lost and someone make a Hitler reaction video to the loss. The joke is that you can make him say whatever you want with subtitles and he gets to over the top mad at everything.
Its a widely accepted joke for people on the internet. I did not think anyone would actually take it seriously.
Just visit youtube and type Hitler reaction. It would take you weeks to watch them all.
LOL.
but seriously being stuck at 2TB on the NAS is not cool. - WhoCares_Mentor

Since I could understand every word that was spoken it took me quite a while to get what you were referring to as "joke" there.armornone wrote: but seriously being stuck at 2TB on the NAS is not cool.
Maybe it was just a bad joke on Hitler's part, to force it upon you, then.
-Stefan - PapaBear1ApprenticeYeah, I think that is a scene clipped from a movie. Of course anyone fluent in German would pay more attention to the spoken words rather than the sub-titles.

Like Jurgen Klinsmann and him introducing "diving" to English football? ;)
- armornoneAspirantIn American, the " Hitler reaction" is a popular joke on college campuses and work place. People will make a Hitler reaction to anything they don't like. That is why there are thousands and thousands of " Hitler reaction"
Most American will just read the subtitles and pretend that is what he is actually saying. Its very funny if you start watching them.
I assumed that no one here actually thinks Hitler is going to invade their country over the readynas not supporting a 3TB hard drive? - PapaBear1ApprenticeNo, but anyone who has really studied what he did to the people of Europe and North Africa, would not find anything involving his image as funny. Seventeen million were killed in the various military units in World War II and an estimated 20 million civilians were killed, with 3 million who disappeared. The individual who was principally involved in causing the wanton destruction of a vast majority of Europe is not found funny by those who understand his evil.

Jay Leno and SNL has jokes with Osama Bin Laden all the time. Once they had him making a terrorist video reaction to Ashley Simpson's lip sync performance.
No one had an issue with those jokes and it was kind of the same thing. - PapaBear1ApprenticeJustifying bad behavior because of other bad behavior is not logical, just an excuse.

So you write letters to SNL and Jay Leno on a regular basis condemning their " bad behavior" ?
You do know that regular people find these shows entertaining not offensive. You still don't seem to get it. Jay Leno often jokes about people who write him letters on a regular basis who are always offended by his Jokes. I always wondered what type of people who actually take the time, effort and money to send him letters but I guess it must have been you all these years.
By the way, if the teachers at a RELIGIOUS college are fine with this video being showed in class as a joke over their football team losing, then I think you are in the minority as being offended or overly sensitive.
You need to lighten up slightly.
