4tb Seagate HDDs with NV+ V2
Sir,
I am having a ReadyNas NV+ V2 having below mentioned Hdds.
Disk 1 ST2000DM001-9YN164 1863 GB (40 °C / 104 °F, Write-cache On). Status: OK
Disk 2 ST2000DM001-9YN164 1863 GB (43 °C / 109 °F, Write-cache On). Status: OK
Disk 3 ST2000DM001-9YN164 1863 GB (43 °C / 109 °F, Write-cache On). Status: OK
Fourth one is failed due to Bad Sectors.
I just added new 4tb Hdd from Seagate (Disk 4 ST4000DM000-1F2168 3726 GB (38 °C / 100 °F, Write-cache On). Status: OK).
The Volume re-building started and finished successfully.
But the Space of the volume didn't increase.
Nas is considering the 4tb Hdd as 2tb Hdd only.
Is there any solution for this ?
I know that the model I used is not showing in HCL.
Also suggest which 3tb/4tb hdds will work with NV+ v2.
Firmware : 5.3.9

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou added it to an empty drive bay?
If the sync has completed you could try a reboot, wait 5-10 minutes then if expansion hasn't started reboot again.
Note that you will need to add a second 4TB disk before you get vertical expansion. The volume can only be expanded when redundant space can be added. - kalpsrAspirantYes I first removed the faulty 2th hdd from fourth position and placed new 4tb hdd at that position.
I rebooted 2-3 times after the sync finished but no luck, volume space is as it is.
Below is the last log from the NAS. Please check it and guide me further.
Buying another 4tb hdd is next option if i gain volume increment.

3!!Sat Oct 11 12:24:26 IST 2014!!root!!A disk was removed from the ReadyNAS. One or more RAID volumes are currently unprotected, and an additional disk failure or removal may result in data loss. Please add a replacement disk as soon as possible.

2!!Sat Oct 11 12:24:36 IST 2014!!root!!If the failed disk is used in a RAID level 1, 5, or X-RAID volume, please note that volume is now unprotected, and an additional disk failure may render that volume dead. If this disk is a part of a RAID 10 volume, your volume is still protected if more than half of the disks alive. But another failure of disks been marked may render that volume dead. It is recommended that you replace the failed disk as soon as possible to maintain optimal protection of your volume.
