6+ TB Ironwolf in an Ultra 2?

Has anyone tried an Ironwolf or WD RED 6+TB drive in an Ultra 2 running latest OS6? I don't care about support.

  • I am now running a pro6 with is 6.7.5 and a couple of 10tb irobwolf drives.

Other than a slowly increasing load cycle count (about 4 per hour when quiet) all appears normal. There is a tool from Seagate to disable the behavior but it does protect the heads in case of movement and the spec is 600,000 load cycles for the drive. So something like 17 years so it may be a good trade to leave it on to avoid damage if moved.
