Adding a WD20EARX to original Readynas Duo

After updating the firmware to 4.1.7 (or later) you will need to do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) to get 4k sector partition alignment. Now you can do this before or after adding the 2TB disk but you will have to do it.
