APC Back-UPS CS 350 compatible

Happy to report success with this UPS and a ReadyNAS Duo V1, an RN102 and an ethernet switch linking them. Raidar tells me there are 58 runtime minutes available at full charge. In practice the NAS shut down at the 48 minute mark.
Just one question. I have the UPS plugged into my Duo via USB and the RN102 monitoring it over the network. This works fine, but it doesn't seem to work the other way round, i.e. with the UPS plugged into the USB port on the RN102. The RN102 doesn't appear to recognise the UPS.
Is this correct? The RN102 is running OS6.1.4.
