Apps not showing up now
hi,
i have a couple of problems hope you guys could help me with please?
I have 2 NAS hard drives 1: 4tb and 1: 3tb Both WD RED. I also Expaned them both so showing has 1 hard drive.
Question 1: Problem started when i did a factory default, Problem is it is now only showing 2.7tb data space, so its not including the other hard drive?
Questions 2: Since doing factory default its now NOT showing any apps at all?
thanks
colin

It shows both hartd drives BLUE and joined together BUT only showing the smaller hard drive Data and NOT both.
You are confusing the data volume with the disk drives. Please read my previous reply, and if you find it confusing, ask some questions.
There only is one data volume with xraid. And with two drives, the size of that volume has to be the size of the smallest disk.
If you want to give up XRAID redundancy, you can switch to jbod. I sketched out how to do that in the earlier reply.

After a factory reset, the system uses default settings. The default RAID mode is single redundancy xraid. The capacity algorithm is "sum the disks and subtract the largest" - which gives 3 TB in your case (2.7 TiB, which is what the NAS reports).
If you want a different RAID mode, then switch to flexraid, destroy the current volume and create new one(s) with the mode you want. I suggest that you avoid RAID-0 (single volume spanning both drives) since that is fragile. The full volume is lost if either drives fail. JBOD generally works out better.

Of course any apps that were installed before would be removed as part of the default.
If you mean you aren't seeing them in "available apps" - sometimes it takes a while for them to show up. However, you should also verify that you have internet connectivity. The easiest way is to manually check for a firmware update, and see if the NAS connects to the update server.

You can destroy a volume even if it resyncing.
