Benifit ? ReadyNAS 214 Ethernet Port Aggregation to NightHawk 8500 ?

New ReadyNAS 214 & Netgear Nighthawk 8500 Router

Will I benifit from  Port Aggregation ??

Note:  I have 100% ( ALL ) of my content on my ReadyNAS

and my wired Laptop, Wired Desktop, pulling and saving to my ReadyNAS.

I'm thinking ( not sure ) sending 2 ports (1g each?? ) into the Router Agg Ports

with 4  ( 1 G? )< weakest link>  going  out to devices..  IS OF NO USE ??

Also..  802ac router..  2 agg wifi.. 450mb x 2= 900mb to devices.. no use ?

Am I correct ?

I should just have  6 x 1g ports  ?

Otherwise.. the only benifit is if I'm   Uploading off my ReadyNAS ?

If I'm downloading  and saving to my ReadyNAS

isn't the content limited to my  Laptop/ Desktop  1 G  wired port (weaklest link)..

which sends it to my ReadyNAS.

The Agg'd ReadyNAS does not pull straight from my 150MB cable service.

Right ??

What do you think ?

I WAS considering setting my R8500 connections as :

Port

1 ReadyNAS
2 MacBook Pro
3 Bose SoundTouch(my love) FLEX Media

-----The above are 1G ports ( I believe)
4 Printer
5 Desktop
6 SWITCH ....  4,5,6 shares  1G  ( from what I recall)

......  switch :  Dlink 500gb External

.................:  BR Roku1

.................:  BR Roku2

If you have more than one gigabit ethernet user connected to the router (not via a switch) using the NAS simultaneously, then you might.  But most users will not.

WiFi connections by themselves won't generate enough traffic.  I see between 200-300 mbits download speeds from a nearby room (30-40 feet from the router).

On the other hand it does on harm to use it (unless you need the extra LAN port).
