It's Netgear's issue. I've reported it to them, but they haven't responded. My guess is that they've taken down the update server.
I'm running firmware 6.10.10 on my RN102 and getting the same problem.
The machine itself is running fine.
I'm getting the same issue. ReadyNAS 104 with 6.10.10 running. Same error. No issues with system itself.

AFAICT Netgear took down the update server.
Obviously this is NetGear's way of saying: maintanance and support discontinued...
