can't access files ReadyNas unit
I have a ReadyNas NV + v2, Product # RND4000-200NAS I originally replaced all of the drives with (4) 3TB drives when I bought this a few years ago. I created the Raid using either the RAID5 or the FlexRaid (I am forgetting the exact name of the option, but the one that ReadyNas recommends) to create a Raid setup totaling 8.1TB
Everything was working perfectly up until yesterday. I am using 4.1TB so far and yesterday I could not access the files on the drive. The folder structure was present but the contents of all of the folder were all empty even though it is still showing 4.1TB being used on the front panel. While inspecting the unit I noticed the #2 blue light was blinking. So I shut down the unit, brought it back up and then it said resync and had a % sign. After seeing how slowly it was moving I left it on for the day and while inspecting it tonight I see that the #1 blue light is now blinking and I am still not able to see any of the data in any folder. HELP PLEASE!! :(

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredSounds like you may have problems with one or more disks.
Do you have a PC you could hook the drives up to to test them (e.g. test SeaGate disks using SeaTools)? - PC_Logic_NYAspirantI do have another PC to hook up the drives to, but since it was setup as a RAID config won't this mess up the file structure if I run sea tools on each individual hard drive?
What tools do you guys recommend for this issue?
plus I thought in a raid 5 or in the flex raid option that I can hot swap out a problematic hard drive. Am I wrong to assume that?
I really want to make sure I can restore these files. Can someone please let me know a step by step process for this? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredSo long as you power off the NAS, label the order of the drives and make sure you don't do any of the destructive tests it's fine.
We do have paid support options for looking into issues such as these.
Have you contacted our support? - PC_Logic_NYAspirantI ran the SeaTools long test and all 4 drives individually and they all passed. Then I put them all back into the ReadyNas enclosure and now I am getting a "No Data Volume" Prompt with the originally IP that I set to it.
Is there any hope?
I have not tried support yet. Will try that sometime this week. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredContact details are shown on the Contact Us page on support.netgear.com
