cant enter tech support mode on readynas dui v1
Hi All
First post here as my faithfl readynas is playing up.
I rmeoved my drives as wasnt going to use it anymore, few months later trying to access disks on windows machine to repurpose them but says BAD DISK. AFter a little research it seems my readynas locked these drives hence why nothing else can see them.
I dug out my old readynas v1 from the attic and put teh drives back in but they wont load and just raidar just says BAD DISK - they were working fine when i took them out a while back and been safely stored.
I think i need to SSH into the readynas with the drives in there then unlock them. I have tried telnet to teh device but cant access - the readynas doesnt seem to want to go into tech support mode where i think i need to be to get this done?
Can anyone help?

Are you booting into tech support mode using the procedure on pages 15-16 here: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RND2110/Duov1_NV+v1_HW_en_06Dec11.pdf
- tonyvee1973AspirantHi and thanks for the reply. Yes doing that and got in after entering user snd pass. but don’t know what to enter now to unlock the hard disks.
Just trying a factory reset with both supposed bad disks in and will leave overnight. Any idea though what commands I use in tech support mode to j lock the hdd?

hdparm --security-unlock NETGEAR /dev/sdx
of course using the correct drive for sdx
