Can't expand ReadyNAS ISCSI

Hi,

 I am unable to exapand a share.

We are running a ReadyNAS 3138 with 4x 6TB disks in Raid10. Current firmware is 6.10.7.  We have 1 volume. Running on Flexraid, We are not using snapshots.

That Volume has 2 shares (1 is unused)

This share has a Windows server connect to it through ISCSI

Windows sees this;

If I’m correct we should still have +/- 1TB of unallocated space.

When I try to expand trough the ISCSI tab the expand button shows this;

Same happens when I do it at the “shares” tab.

These are steps I tried so far;

-I tried to disconnect iSCSI before extending

-Reboot

-Upgraded firmware version.

Am I missing something? I think I should be able to expand the storage, is there a limitation to flexraid?

  • Not with FlexRaid.

    But I think Netgear might have limited the allocation to 90% of the volume size.  BTRFS can misbehave badly if it runs out of free space (though in your case there shouldn't be that much of an issue since you are only using the one LUN).

      thank you for your reply. i'll mark your answer as the solution, as you are the only that replied. I'm still waiting for Support but i kinda gave up on them. We will change out the device with one from a reputable brand.
