Can't get to Admin page after firmware update.

Just before I went on a week's leave on Friday, I logged into one of our Netgear ReadyNAS devices to check on something and was told that it required a firmware update.

I carried out the update, the NAS rebooted, and I was able to login again. However, there was another update prompt (can't remember what for but it wasn't the usual 'You need a firmware update' dialog) so I let it go ahead and do that.

The NAS rebooted and ever since then I can't access the Admin page. I log in and see the normal splash screen telling me the OS is 6.10.10 and this is followed by a progress bar stating "Connecting to ReadyNAS Admin page". After a few minutes I then see a message telling me that the page is offline and I can go no further.

It's been powered off/on by a colleague as instructed but still no joy. I'm told that there are no signs on the front panel of a fault. I can ping it but Explorer is showing me that none of the shares are visible. I won't get back to it until next week when my leave is over but if anyone can suggest things for me to try then, I would be grateful.

UPDATE: I've been sent some info from RAIDar by a colleague and it doesn't look good - image attached. The RAIDar entry claims "The management service is offline". I'd rather not lose all the data on that drive if at all possible!

It's unfortunate that you don't recall what it was telling you, as that action must have triggered the problem.

Are you sure it was an "update prompt", and not something else?

See if RAIDar can give you any useful status:

Yes, I'm sure it was an update prompt as it appeared to download and install something before it told me that it was rebooting.

I've just posted as image of what RAIDar diagnostics is apparently showing my colleague in the office.

Do you have any apps installed on the NAS?
