Crucial 1GB works in my NV+ v1

I just installed a Crucial CT12864X335 in my NV+ v1 after the previous memory failed. Passed the memory test three times, and seems to work fine. Full description, from Amazon, is Crucial Technology CT12864X335 1GB PC2700 DDR 333MHZ 200PIN SODIMM 2.5V CL2.5 Unbuffered Non-ECC Upgrade Memory Module.

I hadn't found any reference to this specific part in this forum, but ordered it because many of the part numbers referenced are no longer available. Nice to know that a compatible module can still be found.

  • Getting ready to add some RAM to my aging NV+. Thx very much for posting this!
  • Thanks for that. I've just purchased a good 2nd hand NV+ that I will use to back up my original NV+ which is still going strong. The FAQ about Rsync failing because the original memory is too small prompts me to upgrade on both units so this is useful information as I can get this Crucial module in Australia.
  • Update on the memory for an NV+

Based on the advice in this thread I purchased two 1 Gb Crucial SODIMMs for my two NV+ units. I received them the other day and have now installed both. I ran the memory test three times for each installation with no problems, so I can report that this module certainly works in the NV+ and that I have tested it 6 times. The units are up and running perfectly (I can't say that I notice a huge difference though they do seem a little faster to boot). I was concerned at first because the modules I received did not match the photos on the order page in that the originals (and the order photos) seem to be single sided (chips on only one side) whereas the units I received had chips on both sides but they fitted without a problem and have worked without any worries.

Here are pictures of the original (256 Mb) memory modules:
