The charge % and time remaining match that of the display on the UPS. The ReadyNas will properly shutdown too.

I understand your rationale. I disassembled one that stopped functioning to see what was up. The first thing I thought when I saw the guts was this could be a fire hazard! I promptly threw it in trash.
BTW, I have disassembled several APC units. They are typically designed well and nicely manufactured. I've never been a big fan of the company but was hoping things would improve once Schneider bought them. Still waiting...
