Data gone, no worries about that, just want to use again RN1100

Hello Coucil:

Leson learned from long time: ReadyNas is not for single point of recover important data. All my data now is gone, no worries, mirror copy made, and no emergency/disaster for the time being.

After factory reset, the Frontview is not responsive, normal boot led code says no disks detected. I try a factory reset, same result: no Frontview, just appearing on RAIDar and answering pings, but no more than that.

I just want to create a new volume and start all again.

The TFTP boot led codes stands for "Corrupted...In most cases problem may be solved by OS reinstall with NAND recovery. Contact support before taking actions"

What is the procedure for doing that OS reinstall with NAND recovery?

Thanks in advance!

You were right just as Luke Skywalker about Vader: the screen on the NV+ shows "Bad firmware" while the RAIDar says "Corrupt root"

    What's my best next move?

Do a factory default, which will reformat the disks (losing any data, and requiring you to reconfigure the NAS)..

USB/TFTP won't solve your issue, because it is about what's on the disks, not what's in the flash memory.

Thanks a lot for the quick answer mdgm!

I follow the procedure for USB recovery, Insert USB flash after Rawrite32 image you kindly sent > OFF/ON while power button pressed until 4th blink then just wait... until the NAS auto shuts down, then press power button with USB still connected, but I got same result: no disks detected, no Frontview responding.

I repeat the procedure twice, same result...Am I missing something?

      Please advice.

        By the way:

I also try the other USB bays (2 on the back, 1 on the front) with 2 different USB keys form different manufacturer and capacity, also downloaded another .img in another computer and Rawrite32 shows image sent OK to device.

Unfortunately same result, still reporting no disks detected, no Frontview available.

It happens that I have also a NV+ available for cold backup, and I wonder if the 2TB from the 1100 wil lbe compatible with the NV+ running same old 4.1.14 firmware, it's not relevant which box factor will take to duty again, no problem if you ask to forget about that 1U box and move the 4 disks to their new ReadyNas Home.

May the Force serve us well...
