I thank you and JohnCM_S for your kind help. I am currently using reclaime software to recover the last couple of months. The process is slow. Browsing through the files as it searches, it is amazing the amount of corruption that a single incident can cause. I have had several incidents where /data files have ended up in the system root and have filled it to it's 4gb limit. Up until this time, I have fixed it with little to no issues.

After you recover the data, I suggest that you put a backup plan in place for your NAS. As you are finding out, data recovery is a lot of work, and often you can't recover everything you need.
