Deflective RN212 - Help me save my drives!

My RN212 was causing sever network issues with all devices that were connected the same switch. All issues would be relieved once I removed the NAS from the switch. Eventually, I switched the network port from 1 - 2. I attempted to reload the OS & factory reset the NAS with my drives removed, however, the content of my drives do not appear. How can I recover the content from my drives?

    Welcome to the Community!

So using the 2nd NIC resolved the issue with your Network? Were you using a static IP address on the 1st NIC?

Regarding resetting or doing OS-reinstall on the NAS without the drives it is not possible, Do you mean when you reinserted the drives to the NAS that's when you lost access to your data? Can you still provide us any logs you have downloaded? Have you checked RAIDar utility to see what status is the NAS in right now? It might have been possible.

If the contents are lost, the worst case here is that the NAS performed a reset. If this is the case, the chances of recovering the data is slim to none. I hope this is not what happened so it would be best if you can check on  the NAS thru RAIDar and see if you can gain access to it'[s admin page.

To be clear on this - the factory reset is destructive and includes reformatting the disks.  The OS reinstall doesn't destroy data.

Fortunately it can't be done with drives removed (and neither can the OS reinstall).

I might have wiped my drives. The attached pic is what I can see now on the drive after reinstalling the OS. Can you confirm?

It does not appear that you wiped the drive, but the volume isn't mounting, either.  You are best off contacting Netgear support at this point.
