Ok So I Think I have solved the issues of a) Having to discover every time and b) loss of Access to Admin page (presenting as offline)
After Upgrade to MyNETGEAR.com account and software 6.5.0 this list is a summary of what eventually worked for me
1) Bind to one email address rather than leave that to later
[If you want to link your ReadyCLOUD account to this MyNETGEAR.com account, click the Bind button, enter your MyNETGEAR.com password in the pop-up window, and click the Continue button.]
2) uncheck (or make sure unchecked) USE PROXY Server in Admin Page, Cloud, ReadyCloud, Settings, -Uncheck use Proxy Server (and ignore your previous Username and Password)
Once this is done ensure your computer does not remember, what is now, your old sign in for ReadyCLoud
3) Power Down and Restart NAS
4) After restart and you cant get into Admin Page leave your accessing the NAS admin page for 12hrs+ in case its busy backing up or syncing or something
(Previously I had been logging into Admin page using both email and password and then when prompted (presumably by the Proxy Server) my old username and password pre upgrade before I unchecked the Proxy server)
Some points may be blindingly obvious to many, but some of us struggle with the obvious and are not helped by Windows10 managing to upgrade in an ungraded moment in the middle of all this. It has taken may many and I hope this post will help or set in the right direction at least one person.
Thanks to thoes who have posted on this thread each gave me more insight

Hi JennC
Thanks for looking at this
I was able to access the Admin page earlier today via http://198.168..etc before I
- a) tried the Bind option
- b) un-checking USE PROXY
- c) Powered down and restarted NAS
during which time I have not changed the password
I am trying to access the admin page via browser on same network PC. Entering http://198.168..etc of the NAS gives
Theres a problem with this websites security certificate
I click continue to this webpage I then am presented with big blue box by Microsoft Edge saying the server at 192.168etc is asking for username adn password.
I enter Username and password previously used in ReadyCloud as expected.
I am requested and enter the password 19 times (this attempt) as the thick blue bar slowly fills "connecting to the ReadyNAS Admin Page...
Then I am finally rewarded with ReadyNAS Admin Page is offline
and the blue password box still keeps popping up.
So I cannot get into the Admin page that way.
Alternatively
Trying to access Admin page on a computer that is connected to the same network where the NAS is via readycloud.netgear.com having logged in Clicked on Admin Page to get Local admin pagewindow then on HTTP// 192.168...etc
I then after a long wait I get the thick blue bar slowly fills "connecting to the ReadyNAS Admin Page... and then ReadyNAS Admin Page is offline
(BTW Help on Line at the bottom of that page does not connect to a page)
All the while I am able to access the NAS using my NetGear account email login and see the NAS other than Admin page
Please Help
Regards
Mike

Hello Mike101,
Sorry I lost this discussion for few days.
I'm not sure when that binding the email address appears, I saw that once when I was upgrading one of my ReadyCloud accounts while my other accounts did not have this option.
Anyway, yes, binding the account the email address is important, I've seen some users had to do this too.
Thank you for summarizing the steps you have taken and I sure think this will help others too.
We appreciate your contribution to the community!
