However, just because one drive is failing does not mean the failure of the second is imminent. Also keep in mind that during the resync process there is a lot of strain on the drives, so if the second drive is weak, that is when it could fail. Of course a second drive failure occurring during the resync would most likely cause data loss. For that reason if you are not currently maintaining a backup (recommended) then it is a good idea to create one, if you have one, make sure it is current.
