I did some more digging and I am almost 100% sure the issue is related to the power up cycle of my ReadyNAS NV. The error tends to happen when it powers up automatically. The behavior is identical to physically disconnecting the USB cable. I know the cable is good because when I connect it to my PC, the UPS software works perfectly without any errors. So, I am suspecting the issue is a bug in ReadyNAS NV. If this forum is not the right place to post this inquiry, I would appreciate it if the moderators would advice where I should post it so I can get a resolution. I bought this UPS because it was on the HCL.
